Luau Party Supplies
The best way to throw a Hawaiian party is with authentic
luau party supplies. The items that typically come to mind are grass
skirts, leis and tiki torches, but there are many more things that can
make the party more fun and authentic. Polynesian and Hawaiian foods
are a great place to start, a typical luau has a roasted wild pig or
boar on a spit over a fire. The pig takes all day to cook, so a luau
is often an all day event culminating in a large feast with plenty of
drink when the pigs ready.
Food and drink are just the beginning though, other luau party supplies
could include decorating the room or outdoor area with plenty of exotic
flowers and tropical fruits such as pineapple, bananas and coconuts.
Giving each guest a lei when they arrive is standard practice and should
not be forgotten. Real flower leis can be expensive, but can also be
handmade very easily. Fake flower leis are often cheap and widely available
at party supply stores.
Luau party supplies can be found in many party supply stores, and are
even more widely available during the warmer months of the year. Adding
a miniature umbrella to a coconut after its filled with the guests drink
of choice is an excellent garnish. Serving kava, a root drink typical
of Hawaiian and Polynesian cultures that has a slightly intoxicating
and calming effect, is another great idea.
